Significant tree bombs and sun effect on solar aspects made for tricky skinning below treeline. Ski pen 10-20cm, with pockets of powder sheltered from solar effect, tree bombs, or avalanche activity from earlier in the week. As noted in previous MIN report, there was a widespread avy cycle on west/northwest aspects, with significant amount of avalanche debris running into large timber along a trail.
Snow conditions were: Crusty, Hard, Powder. Weather conditions were: Cold, Foggy, Cloudy. We rode: Mellow slopes, Dense trees, Steep slopes, Open trees. We avoided: Convex slopes. Riding quality was good.
Avalache Conditions: Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow.
