Nadahini

Logan, Wednesday 23rd October, 2024 9:34PM

Day started mostly cloudy and visibility didn't look great, but there was a hint of sun that gave us enough hope to head up Two Sisters NE ridge. Weather cleared up throughout the day and we were able to take advantage of the great snow. Between 10 and 30cm ski pen all day, top to bottom. Very little wind effect except for a bit on ridge crests. Even up at 1750 meters on the ridge, the snow was still only a little wind pressed. Recent snow seemed to be bonding well, and our travel did not show any signs of instability. Pit at 1450 meters on a NE aspect found a 250cm snowpack depth. ECTN on 14 and 16, down 30 and 40 cm, recent loose snow. ECTP 24 down 80 cm, solid slab on a thin layer of facets. Wind was mostly light and wind transport seemed pretty minimal all day. Spotted a crown line on a north facing steep rocky slope on Nadahini main peak, but too far away to see any details. -2 to -4 degrees all day. Great day of riding.
