Tim Jones North Face

JulianG, Wednesday 23rd October, 2024 9:32PM

Unintentional skier triggered avalanche. We ski cut the convex roll at the top of Tim Jones Peak with no reaction. However, 5m down the face a ~15cm slab released, ~10mt wide, run length of ~150mt to the bottom of the slope, and size 1.5. The release was at a slope of 40-45 degrees and the skier was not carried. The slope was north facing, leeward with sparse trees. The slab released on the rain crust of this week. The temperature was still below zero when it released. Unrelated picture of some bobcat? tracks
