Started the day out at 8:00 AM at trailhead-23 C. Blue sky and little to no wind. Skiff of fresh snow from previous 24 hrs. Up Commonwealth Col and into bowl. As you can see from pictures small wind effect on up track and various small sloughs off the Alpine with no step down to any deeper layer.
Alpine bowl skied quite nicely with boot top fresh snow. It was early AM and had no sun. Gully to valley floor was skied up a bit but we still had fun.
Up the Avi path (below Fist) to just below ridge. Sun exposed by now and nice warm feeling but only -10 C - no wind at this elevation (2500 meters) but starting to gust at peaks with a minor amount of snow being carried. Snow had no wind or sun effect. The snow had settled and stability was great. The snow was boot top fresh tracks and skied really nicely.
Back at the valley and truck - wind was gusty. -7 C at 2:30 PM.
