Up on the traverse enjoying a late April day in mid-March! Wind-scoured upper French moraines require some walking with gear in hand but travel is pretty quick and straightforward.
Some early morning sun-triggered activity on the right-hand wall of French Creek ( you could say right on schedule). Bootpack up to high col well defined. Wet snow , but more like a late spring concern. Some death cookies off of Robertson onto Haig.
Ski off col started with serious winds and wind-effect crust but skiers right afforded some soft deposits and allowed 15-20 good turns. After getting of steeps ( right side) the remaining descent was crust and debris off the east side of the valley. With continued heat, it’s only going to get more chonky on the way out!
Not a bad day if you weren’t counting on big turns...
