The conditions have improved but we still need more snow! A lot of sharks lurking up there today along with a lot of people. We seemed to have received about 50cm of new snow at 1600m in this area. It's sitting on a crust interface 10-15cm above ground. See Snowpack info.

Snow conditions were: Heavy, Powder. Weather conditions were: Cloudy. We rode: Mellow slopes. We avoided: Steep slopes. Riding quality was ok.

Avalache Conditions: 30cm + of new snow, or significant drifitng, or rain in the last 48 hours. Whumpfing or drum-like sounds or shooting cracks.

Snowpack

Observed whumpfing in open areas around treeline. CT4 SP on WNW aspect at 1600m failing at ~15cm from ground on hard crust.
