Did the Sifton Traverse today. We noted a very shallow snowpack in the alpine leading to the col with some reverse loading, the surface snow was still soft but starting to develop some stiffness near ridge tops. The snowpack was largely faceted and we had a small sluff that went to ground on a steep shallow feature. There was still some Dec 5th SH reactivity on unsupported pillows ~treeline and below. Overall the snowpack is very shallow and creeks and some terrain roughness is still to be ironed out. TLDR: your skiing in the rockies!
