Ice Road Trucking

Recent conditions at Hasler have turned the road into a sheet of ice past the mine road. Same with the first 3km of sledding access. After the access trail gained elevation we were back on hard snow and melt freeze crust. While not great, these conditions did let us travel far. Everywhere we went, we saw surface hoar. Sheltered areas and lee features had small pockets of snow on top of the crust. We found small slopes for sled testing the windslabs and did not get results. The lack of snow in the alpine and questionable traction were the limiting factors today.
