Observed a size 1 avalanche that ran on the early November crust (likely remote triggered). Avalanche ran to mid-path. No burials or injuries to report.
Wind below treeline = nil Treeline and above = 30-40km gusting higher as the afternoon progressed
Probing up to 130cms at tree line which could be a result of some wind transport from Friday evening’s snow/wind event. Reactive wind slab on north facing slope that is bonding poorly to the early November rain crust down approx 30 cms. Remote triggered a size 1 avalanche in the bowl just below Hero’s Knob that ran to mid-path. Lots of loose dry activity on adjacent, steep alpine slopes. Overall, great skiing to be had in the alpine and at treeline with a very sporty ski out. Conditions are changing with high winds moving into the alpine this afternoon - definitely time to turn the brain into winter mode.
