Bald hills

A glorious inversion today! Good turns in sheltered areas, and the alpine is unsurprisingly heavily wind effected. No results from ski cutting on 30 degree wind loaded slopes at treeline. Treeline observations at 1300: air temp +5.5, T-10 -5.4, HS 70cm, boot pen 35 cm, ski pen 8cm, clear skies turning to scattered clouds in the afternoon, light SW wind. Crust developing from moist surface snow at treeline by late afternoon. Air temp -3.0 at 1700 in the parking lot. Surface hoar up to 10mm in the parking lot area, dissipated by ~1800m.
