Quick Observation

Got into the alpine to ski video peak and observe the temps. Direct steep solar faces warmed up with the sun which effect the top 2-3cm of snow with snow underneath staying cold. Snow on everything besides south aspects was riding really nicely with not much effect from the rising temps. Dug a pit on a north aspect on Balu pass/Cheops before heading out. Overall great sunny day of skiing!

Avalanche Information

Observed a natural size 1 in STS chute on Cheops on the Lee slope about 50 meters below the cornice. Probably happened the day Dec 1.
