Quick Observation

Hang onto your gogglesoc’s and probe bags, its a bit windy out there! Strong SW winds with extreme gusts. Air temp of -6c at 2100m actually provided a surprisingly warm day. Flurries throughout day but the wind had stripped any accumulation from the cars in the parking lot. Footpen of 48 cm giving lots of snow for transport (T10 of -7.0c) so we were cautious of wind loaded areas. Anything above 2100m is wind affected with some good wind slabs forming. HS of 110cm at 2100m. Layers and test results consistent with other reports from this week as well as the avalanche bulletin. Skiing was as expected with marginal to ok conditions. Good to be back out there!

Snowpack

Consistent with other reports in the area and the avalanche bulletin. 2mm facets on ground below the crust.
