Whirlpool Valley

Made the long trek into the Athabasca Pass area Mar 4-7. Travel very spring-like as expected with marginal skinning and carrying in places. Despite travelling no avy terrain and making 0 turns, we did pass within sight of quite a few slopes and did not observe any recent avalanche activity. Weather was generally moody with mixed precip and marginal to no overnight freezes. Precip totals were generally less than forecasted. Made our escape today before the wet storm smoked us.
