Surprisingly good 4 days @ Asulkan

Skied in Friday 9 Feb, bluebird day. A few sluffs coming off steep south facing slopes. No other signs of instability. Saw a group skiing down Forever Young.
A few got out for an afternoon lap above the hut in dreamy pow
Saturday 10 Feb, high cloud and clear conditions, no new snow, low wind, got up Young’s. Decided to not venture to forever young across the narrow ridge as the skiing down from the headwall looked too good. Did see two other groups doing Young’s Traverse from the other side heading up and over successfully. Chatted to one group who said Young’s looked to have been refreshed as no tracks from the day prior skiers visible. Headwall was dreamy pow all the way back to the hut. A bit of sluffing on the headwall but very minor & manageable. No other signs of instability. Another afternoon lap above the hut from near the base of the glacier, again dreamy pow.
Sunday 11 Feb, trace snow, low wind. One group headed for a chill walk to Asulkan Pass then back down the same slopes to the hut. More wind effect on the lookers right side where the skin track ascended but surprisingly still great turns in flat light back down to the hut. No signs of instability despite some more wind affect around. Another group headed up to Sapphire Col. Skinned up next to the Cleaver, no signs of instabilities. Boot top cold powder ski down.
Monday 12 Feb, very windy overnight and fresh snow. Legs too tired to get out for some more turns despite it clearing up. Skied out with a nice refresh down the tree triangle. No signs of instability with the new snow on the tree triangle, great turns with heavy packs!
