Halcyon ridge

Yukon Field Team, Tuesday 2nd January, 2024 6:00PM
Today we skied the east side of Halcyon. There has been 5 cm of snow in the previous 48 hours that is now burying a thin crust from warm temperatures on Saturday. This crust was present between 1000 m and 1300 m and was barely noticeable while skiing. Various windblown surfaces existed in the alpine with sheltered lee aspects holding soft snow that made for great riding! The wind was calm throughout the day and we observed no new avalanches.
