Reached the alpine with pretty much no wind effect up high. At noon there wasn’t a breath of wind, and any recent snow movement looked really light.
Found a hard layer about 60–90 cm down. It was obvious, but it wasn’t reacting or causing any issues where we were.
We stuck to tree skiing. Coverage was good above ~1,600 m, but below 1,500 m it got pretty sketchy with thin snow, snags, and things hiding just under the surface. Had to ski with care.
Overall, travel was smooth up high with no red flags, and we kept things mellow in low-consequence, sheltered terrain.
