Quick Observation
Very very very wet skiing, almost impossible to turn and even slide downhill with how deep and heavy it was. Snow was slightly drier above 1800m, but not by much. We avoided all alpine slopes and skied the trees which was mediocre. Below 1500m or so it was straight up raining, soaking us (and the snowpack) :( significant warming, much less snow on the way out than the way in and we walked from the creek crossing around 1500m back to the car.
Avalanche Information
Small natural avalanche ran over top of the skin track we came in on, so must have happened Saturday overnight or early Sunday morning. It slid on a section of smooth slabby rock (see photo) and down through the trees approx 40m.
Snowpack
CTN which was surprising due to the obvious layer 80cm down that seemed like it should be reactive. Did not have tools with us for more testing unfortunately.
