Quick Observation
Good day of riding in Tommy Creek today. There was a bit of a crust first thing but the snow softened up mid morning and the riding was decent. The best snow was on steep northerly facing slopes above 2200 m where the last bits of dry snow were hanging out. There were lots of signs of previous wet loose slides, a cornice fall, and even a wet slab avalanche from the last couple of warm days. By late afternoon most the snow surface was moist with new wet loose activity started up around 15:00 on steep southerly faces. Some of these had notable debris piles and one we saw ok the drive out had ran to valley bottom. The day was a mix of sun and cloud with temperatures above 0°C and moderate southerly winds but no blowing snow.
