Wind took the lead role in the avalanche story today. Today, in Corbin, we observed large and looming cornices and strong westerly winds transporting snow at ridge tops. We investigated the February 2nd MFcr and deep basal layers in a test pit at 2000 m, which helped us to stay sheltered from the gusty winds. Our tests produced no significant results.
