Burnt trees

Saw an older size 2.5 or 3 on a N facing thin rocky aspect probably triggered earlier in the week from the high winds. Down lower the snow was crusty but conditions improved as we gained elevation and eventually turned to nice low density powder. Surface hoar was evident especially at the valley bottom. The slide paths were starting to get skied out but the cold temperatures faceted the tracks out and made ski quality great up high even where it had been more skied out.
