It's hawt out there! 😎
We took a walk up East Ridge to stretch the legs and see the sights. Enjoyed picnicking in the sunshine near the top and had a mellow cruisey run back down. Variable snow, we were a little early in the day (1 pm descent) for the top surface to have softened up enough for corn skiing.
Around 12:45 we heard a huge avalanche rumble somewhere out of sight. We suspected that it was possibly up Happy Valley on a similar sun-baked aspect to ours but can't say for sure. We have a full view of Certain Doom at the time and didn't see anything come down in there during the long, loud rumbling.
We skied out via Pollywood in surprisingly decent conditions. Mostly soft and spring like with just a touch of icy survival skiing in the shady sections.
