Top Hat Traverse

Overall better than expected conditions on the Top Hat Traverse. We noted some large sluffs and old wet loose avalanches on the south side on the pass (Hamilton Lake side) while approaching coming off of extreme terrain. These did not step down or cause any propagation that we noticed We dug a hasty pit on the north side of the col and had CTM9 down 40 results on both test (wind slab?) with sudden planar results (Q2) Lots of old avalanche debris covered by some new snow to ski over for the final pitches down to the creek. Creek ski out is fine but a little spicy! Take your time!
