Quick Observation

Great skiing between old tracks. Small slide triggered in a more open area, see avalanche tab for description.

Avalanche Information

3rd skier down released a 10cm deep by 5m wide crown while turning near a small convex roll over. Initially the small slide slowed down, then built speed and volume and continued down slope at a slow rate, then stopped on its own on a ~25 degree slope. No wind crust observed at higher tree line elevation, some evidence of wind transport. Old tracks on this slope were covered by soft wind transported snow. No burials or injuries from this small slide, not enough to bury a person. Pit dug above this open slide path in a more wind affected area with no significant result.
