Birchy Post Rain

New snow settling in on top of the crust left from rain event Jan 6-7. Pockets of deep snow amid some very wind affected, crusty snow. Fighting for turns in the crust about 70% of the time (30% awesome powder). New snow slab seems as though it could be rather unstable. Did not dig a pit but observed whoomphing and shooting cracks underfoot constantly in open areas. All snow in tight and open trees was stable. Stumps and debris are still lurking. Ski with care!
