We were staying at the Wendy Thompson hut from Jan 4-6. On Jan 5th we skied south west facing slopes. There was a non breakable sun crust about 15cm deep but still skied well. No signs of instability. Snow was wind affected above 2000m. On Jan 6th we woke up to about 20-30cm of light powder. We skied a south west facing slope in the trees. Didn't see any signs of instability, however the new snow now sits on the sun crust buried about 40cm deep. Temperatures varied from -3 to -7 at 1800m.
