Did a half day tour out into Mongolia, north side mostly along the ridge. We dug a put and did a snow pack test. Found the December rain/frost layer around 70-80cm deep, very strong and had to use force to saw/shovel through it. 10 taps from wrist/elbow/shoulder all with no reaction. Wasn't till I smacked the shovel with quite a bit of force did we have separation above the December rain/frost layer. No signs of instability, resulted in some nice turns through some heavy, sticky snow in mellow slopes and dense trees. Shoutout to OJ, best AST instructor !! I hope you see this!
