Incident

Late Sunday afternoon 2 Sledders on South Douglas Mtn were the last to head for the trucks from the cabin. Visibility was ok with high cloud cover. One rider took a short detour into an saddle, looking for a possible access route. He realized he was on a cornice when it broke from under him, taking him and his sled 200 m down the backside of the mtn. Fortunately he was uninjured and came out on top. However his sled was nowhere to be seen. He radio'd his partner with an update and climbed out. Motor trouble now had the 2 on foot heading back for the cabin. On the way we received cell service and made the call home. 9:30 pm we reached the cabin. To those who came to our aid and those that built and maintain the cabin... Thank you very much! One sled is still missing in the deposit.
