- <p>We had a very sensitive snowpack in the area we dug a snowpit. We had 1 collapse during our travels when the 4th rider approached our group in an opening.</p>
We had very unstable snow on the northwest side of Reid Peak. The low ECT scores (ECTP8 and ECTP10) and the failure on the basal facets 115cm down was a surprise.
As we made our way around to the north side of Reid Peak, we witnessed significant graupel cascading off the cliff bands.
Snowpack

- <p>Refer to our video, the snowpack was very unstable. No one in our group felt it was a day to venture into avalanche terrain. With a storm having started while we were still out, the PWL could become active.</p>
The north side of the range has more snow than I have seen in other places. Our snowpit was in 115cm of snow. There is a combination of facets, crusts, settled snow, and loose snow on the surface.
