Farm

4 days at The Farm (190211-190214). Saw no signs of instability and no new avalanches observed. Significant wind-affect in ALP/TL on all aspects except sheltered east. L-M, NE winds. No significant precipitation. HS 250-350cm. Cold temperatures (-16C - -29C) have been faceting the upper snowpack. There is 40-50cm low density, faceting snow over top a 6cm MFcr. Another MFcr was found down 77 in our pit but there was no reactivity in any of our tests on these PWLs. Good stability allowed us to step out and ski slopes up to 45 degrees on all aspects and all elevations.

TP at 1600hrs. T air -18C, incline 30 deg. 6cm MFcr down 45 with another MFcr down 77. Easy shovel shear down 77 but CTN (2/2) and DTN down 77 on MFcr. Right-side up snowpack with no weak basal layer.
