Wind Loading, Cracking
Red Flags Comment

Increasing winds should bump the hazard for fresh wind drifts along the ridge lines. Only cracking within the newer snow and some shallow minor wind drifts today.

Visibility was fairly limited today, but may have spotted a recent avalanche on the north side of Gold Hill. There is a rocky area in this location that typically has weak sugary snow and this slope is often times triggered from the bottom. Debris will usually stack up on a bench making for a bad terrain trap.

Good snow conditions, but visibility was somewhat limited today.

Snowpack

Instability Comment

Slides continue to be triggered in shallow rocky areas where the snow pack has remained thin and each snow and wind event adds more stress.

Generally good riding and turning with supportable conditions in sheltered terrain.
