Quick Observation

The last few storms have added some much needed snow to the Elkford area which allowed us to get some observations from the North of the forecast region. The snowpack remains shallow with a weak layer on the Nov crust at ground. Above this layer is a firmer midpack with the recent soft storm snow on top. We are still giving the weak layer respect and time as triggering this layer in a larger piece of terrain could have serious consequences. We stayed away from steep slopes (>30 degrees) and overhead hazards.
