Quick report

Toured to Gulf of Slides to observe conditions and active snowfall. Dug a rough pit at 4200 feet in the Main Gully to see general trends in snowpack. As of 1230, about 7-8 cm of new snow had accumulated on a roughly 1.3 m snowpack. The three main layers observed top-down were today's new snow, gradual accumulations over the past month, and faceted snow from December's rain event. Marginal visibility prevented line of sight to conditions higher up. Winds sustained 20-30mph with higher gusts. Multiple parties and visibility made for an easy decision to turn around. GoS trail remains thinly covered.
