Quick report
I was teaching some basic glacial movement techniques with my group near the large rock island on the Hotlum Bolum snowfield below the snow gully. We made our way back to the Northgate high camp at 1310. Turning around to check upslope, I witnessed the Rockfall give way, releasing 2 extremely large van sized boulders travelling at speed, setting off a small D2 wet slide. The boulders bounced off the central rock island exploding into smaller (but still huge) boulders. The boulders travelled 500m within 15 seconds, stopping with a 75m span across the snowpack. My group managed to run to safety and no one was injured.
