Quick report
Driving though Crawford Notch at 10am, no visual evidence of surface warming was seen from the road.
Went for a quick tour up the cog to evaluate snow surface conditions on the west side. Very mild temps and some breaks of sun in high level clouds moistened snow surfaces on West aspects below 4200ft and globbed onto skins when transistioning between shaded and sun affected snow. In treed and shaded areas with a more northerly aspect, the top several inches of uncosolidated newer snow remained cold and dry. Ski poles easily punched though firmer layers and crusts below the surface.

Clear morning with afternoon, high level cloud cover. Light winds below 4200ft. Seasoanbly mild temps.
Snowpack
On a northwest-facing slide path off the Cog, overall snow depth was shallow. More settlement existed on the west-facing side with snow depth ranging from 40cm in the center of the path to 90cm on the more shaded and northerly aspect. In the shaded areas, ski penetration was about 20cm and boot penetration was knee deep. While still cold snow, sun exposed areas only had ski penetration of around 10cm.
