Quick report

Collapsing
specific

High winds as we approached the base of Hillman's Highway to observe the snow. While we were still at a low include (25 to 30 degrees) snow was soft with very little observable snowpack where we were, but likely more above us due to the winds.

Climbing up to the intersection of Dodge's Drop and Hillman's Highway to evaluate the snow and wind conditions for a potential climb up Dodge's Drop. Very quickly after entering the run out at the base of Hillman's, as we were digging to evaluate the snow, we were hit with a powdery slide a few feet deep. Our party was all on the climber's left edge of the gully, but one member was knocked off his feet and carried ten feet or so. His ice tools were lost in the debris. We immediately back tracked back and reported the slide to the rangers at the base.
