Quick report

Perfect day out there this morning. ~6 inches of new snow on top of Friday and Saturday's precipitation. I dug a few hand shear tests on the way up (pictured below is E facing ~7400', my hand went straight through the center) and the snow seemed to be sticking fairly well to the old surface. My hand would go straight through the new snow rather than get an adhesive failure between the old layer and the new snow. Observed a few possible natural sluffs on the headwall, but they were small enough and far enough away it was hard to tell if they were real or not. Other than that I observed no indications of instability on the E facing slopes I skied.

The fresh snow is especially nice after the winter we have had so far, but I would have enjoyed today's conditions any year. Great day to be out.
