Poor Snowpack Structure

Not much for windslabs today. Wish we could have found more. Most of the drifts formed on what was bare ground yesterday. What was notable was the failure in CT on the facets that have formed right above the glacial ice layer. We also had many ECTN on that same layer. Just no notable slab to see any propagation. These are much worse than the last time I had noted. They do not seem to have any stucture and are only going to get worse. With the next storm comming in a little heavier than yesterdays storm we might see some action in the northern wasatch. Not huge but crowns in the 40-60cm range. It was nice to actually be able to tests these facets sitting on the glacial layer finally. Up until now we have not been able to test them becuase we had no slab. We still lack a true slab but with time it will form.

<p>The wind slabs were not even hard in most places today. Even though the wind blew hard most drifts were still very soft in nature. Also with the N wind most of the drifts were on SE-SW aspects.</p> <p>Variable Conditions as Paige has warned about.</p>

Lowest of low density pow on the surface.  Looked like little angels falling from the sky.
