Deja Vu tour in the Middle Fork. • Took advantage of our skin track for an easy layup today. Swish... is what the skiing sounded like at all elevations. • Riding conditions, weather, and stability mirrored our experience yesterday. • Winds were absent or very calm all day. Even at our highpoint of ~7200'. • We felt comfortable skiing steep east facing slopes that exceeded 35 degrees and enjoyed the modest dash of excellent dry powder that has fallen in the last 72 hours. • Below 5500' we navigated some steep (35-45+) east facing slopes and had to exercise a bit of slough management. The old snow interface is slightly more robust at these elevations which helps the new snow slide freely. Additionally, the surface snow felt a lot dryer, less settled, and a bit faceted at these elevations. This might be something to monitor whenever we get our next round of precip. If the high pressure ahead continues to facet the surface snow on these lower elevation, cold, and shaded aspects, I could see this developing into a new persistent slab problem. No signs of instability observed today other than some sloughing within the new snow on steep slopes (40+) below 5500'.

Cold, Cloudy, and very calm day in the mountains. Very light snow showers throughout the day amounted to less than an inch of additional snowfall.
