Red Flags Comment

Although things seem to be relatively stable in the mountains there are still pockets of faceted snow on the north faces. This was most obvious around large boulders where the snow pack is more shallow and readily collapses from the weight of a skier. Things seem to be heating up in the afternoons. Be aware of the potential for wet slides on sunny aspects in the afternoon. Several recent wet slides were visible in talking mountain cirque.

Instability Comment

Higher elevation north facing slopes are still holding onto their facets and careful slope analysis should be used before hopping on anything steep.

Snow quality varies drastically at the moment ranging with just about every condition you can think of. Corn on the south faces, powder on the sheltered north side and various forms of sun affect on every thing else.
