Primarily damp snow surface in the melt phase of a melt-freeze crust with hard (pencil plus) wind crusts and drifts across the road. Limited soft snow conditions that were damp in protected meadows.
Photo of rain affected snow on south facing slope at 7,500). Rain, warm temperatures and sun affected surface snow up to 8,800'.
