Quick report

Found buried surface hoar north west of the Tonsina Glacier 75cm below the surface on a noticable density change. This layer was found at 5500' on a NE aspect. Test results showed full propagation - ECTP29 down 75cm. BSH was decomposing and rounding, see attached photo, sorry for poor photo quality. We did not see any natural avalanches that would have matched the depth and characteristics of this layer. We did however note a trend of natural avalanches between 4500-5000' on NW thru NE aspects that looked to have released towards the end of the most recent storm. Terrain seemed to be confined to the toes of drainages entering into the Tonsina.
