Saturday foggy, light snow, occaisional wind 3 m/s or less. Sunday sunrise clear with clouds and fog forming as day warmed up. Partly sunny afternoon
Snowpack
Fog and 15 cm of fresh snow over a brittle rain crust. 60 cm of dense (1 finger density), small, battered, dry crystals. 7 cm of lax (fist density) transformed rounds, A firm crust and 15 more cm of wet rounds to the muskeg. Skiing was variable, but more than a few good turns were achieved. Stability tasted sketchy; 13 taps on the column, PST ⅓ of the way up the loaf. AK Block Test (Glude) collapsed above the bottom crust, creating a soft slab, with a gentle knee flex. (Note- local beta indicated a right side up snow pack closer to the Pass. Our temps showed 0C at the lowest layers and -5C at the top, but some consequential slack below the 60 cm of dense snow above) Shear was clean quality in the CT, but rougher in the Block Test. Elevation 871 m, Southern aspect. Slope angle 25 degrees. 100cm snow depth avg.
