Crudbuster

Went up crudbuster to take a look at the skier triggered avalanche from 4/9. Up to 2000 ft a temperature crust had already damaged what little new snow had fallen over the previous days, above 2000 ft snow totals slowly climbed with elevation. At 2000ft about 10 cms of new had accumulated and by 4500 ft snow totals had increased to 70 cms. Average crown depth was 60 cms. Failure was on near surface facets with some BSH mixed in at the new/old interface. Pit results at 4500 ft on a north aspect produced ECTP23 and CT17 Resistant Planar. Facets at the new old interface were beggining to shows signs of rounding but were still reactive in tests.
