On the East aspect of maiden peak, I saw a significant amount of surface hoar developing as expected. The rain we received in the last week, has bonded nicely in some areas, and not so much in others. I mostly tested on the East and western aspects of maiden, and found that the eastern side was considerably more concerning than the western. Out of multiple compression test and one ect test, I found a shear quality ranging from 3 to 2 mostly with resistant planer collapse, with the suspected rain crust. On maiden, the rain crust, was 6 to 8 inches deep, and another crust about 12 inches down. In my tests, I did don't find the older crust as reactive. It wasn't severe, but was more than enough to keep me skiing in the trees. Stay safe.
