Quick report

There were really no red flags and no significant current avalanche concerns noted today. To make it simple, the trouble is still to come on the high elevation north facing slopes. The new very low density powder is sitting on top of quite weak faceted sugary snow. The current structure isn't prone to slab avalanches. We need a more stout layer of snow (a slab) added on top of the weak snow to get the weak snow to fail and cause avalanches. It is almost sure to happen at some point but not without some more storms.

Snowpack

Very nice new snow, too bad there isn't a decent base yet!
