Quick report
We started a little earlier than past days to account for a less strong refreeze as well as slightly warmer temps. Skied a NE aspect into an E chute. Towards the top on the NE aspect (11600'), there was a thin melt freeze crust on top of ~2-4" wetter winter snow, not yet having undergone a transition. It did form small, very isolated roller balls towards the top, but firmed up more in the chute below, when we turned more Eastward where no fresh snow remains. Snow line is up at 8400' only in a very narrow gulch down in Tioga Canyon (east of V Bowl). Bit of bushwhacking involved here! Worth it!
