Quick report

Plenty of unconsolidated snow made travel along the trail challenging. Shallowly buried rocks were a problem until the junction with the treasure lakes trail. The new snow ranged from 2" at the parking lot to about boot top at Long lake. Ski penetration averaged 4-6", closer to 8-9" on steeper E/N slopes. New flakes started falling a little before 11 and the strong wind loading of E faces made it an easy decision to not ascend much higher and just poke around the lakes. While doing so I noticed a crown below Bishop pass when the sun made a brief appearance. Descending near or in the trail was very treacherous. I hit many rocks while skin skiing.
