Quick report

Toured in Rock Creek up to about 11900' on the ridge SE of Rock Creek Lake on the way to Mt. Morgan S. Some recent wet slide activity noted in steep E facing gullies off Pointless & Starr; nothing huge. Warm temps, thin gauzy clouds, light winds only above 11k'. N aspects still held a mix of transitional snow and wind-affected powder, depending on slope angle. Where we walked, E aspects at 11k were corning up around 10AM. When we descended around noon, E aspects up to our high point were soft. Below 10700' on steep E/NE aspects we started to trigger small wet loose slides. The gate at the normal winter closure was still locked in the morning but open when we returned to the TH. Crews are actively plowing well above Rock Creek Lake. The Lake still has thick ice but the outlet is starting to melt out.
