Quick report

Very windy day, with small amounts of recent snow available for transport. Recent rain/snow line was at 8,400ft, right at the 108/Leavitt junction. At that location new snow was wet and refrozen into a rain crust. As we gained elevation towards Leavitt Lake, the new snow became dryer (but still moist) and graupel pellets were the primary form. Mitt pits showed good bonding between the new and old snow. Leavitt Lake was still open water today, but given the volume of snow in the forecast, that could become deceiving in the near future.
