Quick report
Went for a walk to practice pit observations. Nice light from 11am-1pm and then the clouds flattened out the light. No major avalanche activity is present. Dug a pit along the microdot ridge on the NWW-facing aspect that looking to have prior wind load. -No Active Precipitation -Scattered Clouds -Air Temp of 1.3 degrees Celsius -Light wind out of the East, gusting enough to transport snow -Ski penetration 10cm, Boot penetration 24cm Very stiff layer from 29-34cm up in the snowpack. CT test fractured during the isolation of column at the top of that stiff layer. ECTP21 at same layer interface. Ended up skiing the south-facing aspect from the bottom of where ridge starts to get steeper and found all the fun shallow, variable snow. Great walking, not the greatest skiing.
